We decided to have a fundraiser to get some funds together. Our list of needs included choir t-shirts, money for bus transportation to performances, and money to fund a possible CD recording project. I talked with some parents and members of our extended school family, and decided to have a big barbecue at which we would perform to raise our needed funds. Thanks to everyone pitching in (and I mean everyone!), the event was a huge success. Aside from those who helped with cooking and serving, every staff member bought a plate and even though we are a very small school, we brought in $800. We had a couple of friends join us -- Zavala music teacher Tomas Cano on saxophone, and our attendance clerk, Ms. Darcy who is an awesome singer.
