We add members and get some gigs...

For starters, fellow Ortega teacher Josh Parks agreed to pitch in and decided he would play bass. We grew to around eighteen members, and I got on the phone to get some gigs for our group. We decided to start small, so our first gigs were performances on the FOX7 Morning Show, and at the state capitol celebrating Black history month. It was very exciting being on live TV, and the group did great. At the capitol, the sound in the rotunda was awesome! We were well-received and got several compliments from passers-by. Thanks to a grandmother who worked at one of the UT bookstores, we got some shirts donated so we could look like a group for these performances.
