Celebrating Black History month 2014 (throwback post)

This is our annual program that we present in following the PTA meeting for February. We had our drum circle performing, student authors read their works, and of course, Superstar Choir performed!

Holiday Time 2014! Cepeda Branch of the Austin Public Library

Thanks to the wonderful branch at the Cepeda branch for putting on a great event! This was our first time here and it is always great when you can get really loud in a library!

Another GREAT Great Christmas Tree Event at the Omni Hotel Southpark

We love being part of this event! Not only do we get to sing in front of an enthusiastic audience from 10-12 other elementary schools around town, it just feels good to be able to give back. Lots of trees decorated by the kids donated to needy families and community centers in Austin. Thanks to Jackie Marks and staff for another great event, and...

January 24, 2015 Elementary Music Showcase at the new Austin ISD performing Arts Center

...located int Mueller Airport development. Well, here we are in the multi-purpose room with what was later recognized as the best turnout of any of the participating elementary schools. A pretty good showing considering that we really only had two and a half weeks to shift from holiday mode into " Black History month" mode! Well, now we will really be ready for that PTA program in February! Thanks to our ACE after school program coordinator Raquel Abrajan for "roadie Assistance!

Festival of Carols at the Historic French Legation

Another event that is a lot of fun -- especially on such a beautiful day! Great turnout from our parents.Besides performing, we got to tour a really old house from the 1840's, and play games and do holiday craft activities. This event has gotten so popular that time slots are now down to twenty minutes each. Thanks Jenny Phillips and staff for once again doing an awesome job coordinating and hosting!

Harvest Fest at Martin Middle School...October 2014

Well, besides a chance for Superstar Choir and Superstar Drum Circle to perform, there was the climbing wall, pony rides, and free food -- what's not to like?!

East End Fourth Friday at Kenny Dorham's Backyard

This year, we had no suspense with the weather -- it was perfect. Maybe that is part of the reason we had a much better turnout of teachers and parents this year! Music, pizza from East Side Pies, and various arts and crafts activities...we had a good time!
